0012Kalmar is one of my favorite cities I've visited. Rich with old-world Swedish culture, the city's cobblestone roads leading to an H&M shows the melding of old and new. If you are lucky enough to visit, make sure to walk the city's wall (once used to contain and protect the city from invaders) and visit the Kalmar Castle. The Castle has an outdoor grass/park area open to the public, and frequented by local friends relaxing or picnicking. Old canons remain on the grounds and the entire area is one giant series of photo-ops.

01528fabulous castle, they make their old jewlery that you can buy and they have the oldest city seal in Scandinavia made ot of stone!
