Switzerland

With its gorgeous Alpine landscapes dotted by small villages nestled in the valleys, its numerous lakes and its uniquely charming old European cities, Switzerland is a breathtakingly beautiful country. Well known for the cleanliness and well-orderliness so highly valued by its citizens – the country is immaculate and train operators have been known to apologize for arriving at their destination one and a half minutes late. The Swiss themselves are a blend of co-existing German, French and Italian cultures.  Each region of the country has its own individual flare. See the world’s tallest water fountain in Geneva and explore the dungeons of the 11th century Chillon castle on lake Geneva. Head east for Zermat and visit the Grossmunster Cathedral. Enjoy some incredible mountaineering in and around the jagged Matterhorn and picnic beside high altitude emerald-hued lakes. Head down into the Lautenbrunnen Valley containing no less than 72 waterfalls and visit the picturesque village of Morcote hugging the Banks of the Ticino River in the southern end of Switzerland. In all, a great country to visit.

Luzern, Central Switzerland, Switzerland
Lucerne is one of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland. The city is seperated by the river Reuss, the one side of the city is called the old city and the other side the new city. The new city holds the train station and variuos new buildings. The most impressive of all is the KKL which stands for Art and Culture of Lucerne. The building is right next to the train station and is huge, well huge for swiss standards. The building has a concert hall, restaurants and bars, a gallery and a museum like walkabout path in the top floors that has a fantastic view over the city, lake and alps surrounding the lake of Lucerne. The building is deffinitly a must see! In the old city, across the river you will find lot's of shop's and café's, nice restaurant's and lovely cobblestone streets and paths, as cars are forbidden in the old city, one can stroll around and enjoy the beauty of this old and neat place. If you go there, then i recomend going to a shop called the Manor, the shop itself is full of crap, hideous tarts with far to much make up and drenched in perfume. But if you manage to get pass these dreadful creatures and make it to the escalator, then go all the way to the top floor. There you will find the Manor restaurant, the food is not bad at all, if you still have your apetite. In the middle of the restaurant there are stairs leading you to the jewel of it all, the terasse on the roof. Here you can enjoy your far to exspensive food and drinks while looking over the entire old city of Lucerne. It's really worth it.

Greifensee, Zurich Region, Switzerland
The Greifensee close to Zurich is anice lake which on a nice trip can rounded by skates, bicycles or on foot (about 20 km) In fall every year the Greifenseelauf is taking place here. This halfmarathon (10km can be done as well) is one of the oldest and biggest annual running events in Switzerland. One should also mention the Climbing centre (Milandia) in Schwerzenbach which was opened in 2007. Next to the climbing centre other sport activities like tenis and golf can be performed as well.

If possible come and visit basel in summer or spring, its rather a small town so ur best of to see it on foot or by pushbike! Cycle along the river and see parts of the oldtown during the day, for eg start near St.Alban and ride to "Birsköpfli", lie in the sun and have a swim in the rhine, then ride across the bridge and back along the river to the "Tinguely Museum"! Soon you'll be reaching the "mittlere brücke",go a bit further and have a cold beer at one of the "buvette", a relaxing bar where u can either sit under the shade or cool ur feet at the riverboard! When the sun sets you should hear a concert on the "Floss" and make ur way further up to the NTAreal and party till dawn...
