Geneve Travel Guide

Geneve is a lovely city. While taking a stroll along the lake make sure you go towards the jet d'eau and check the time on the floral clock. At the beginning of August there is the Geneva festival, the sides of the lakes are full of tents offering food from all around the world, activities and of course alcoholic drinks. There are live music performances and fair ground rides. The Lake Parade earlier in the Summer is also great fun. This is when you realise that Geneve is actually full of eccentric people.

Be prepared to pay a few dollars if you miss out on the few hostels in the city. Nice spot for a day or two but not much more. One of Europes more expensive cities

There is a restaurant that only serves roast chicken and chips (salad for vegetarians ) in a great bohemian atmosphere. Also probably the cheapest meal youll have in a proper restaurant.

Geneva can be really charming, but stuff gets exorbitantly expensive there. If you're super-rich, you'll love the shopping. One thing that's definitely cool about the place is it's massive water fountain (which is the tallest in the world and supposedly hooked up to a computer that measures wind speeds to and adjusts the keep the spray at a it's max).

Nestled in the a valley next to Lake Geneva, if you stay here try chillin' at L'Hermitage. It's a tiny BB in the new part of the city. Walking distance to shopping and the lake and train station and most importantly CHOCOLATE!!!

I only stopped in Geneva for a couple hours, but it seems like a decent city. Lake Geneva is pretty nice looking though.
