Beatenberg Travel Guide

Absolutely my favorite vacation spot ever.... the best part was the sound.   Of silence.   Intermittenly broken by soft jingling of cowbells or goats on the hillside around.   While little lights twinkled on the lake way down below.   Very special wonderful place.   We stayed at a little Bible college that has inexpensive rates including meals.  Dinner is at a mandatory time, sit-down together with devotions.   This is the place if you're into hiking.   Lily & I won't forget the beauty contest...posters all around announcing the year's annual beauty contest.  Then we nearly were run over by a cow parade....the most beautiful cow won a humongous cowbell to wear for that year.   They herded them all into a parking lot and hosed them down--there was cow poop mush everywhere!  Best tip?  Have a plan for if you get lost or separated by accident...

with 7km the longest village of Europe. Very peacfull with the best view of Eiger Mönch und Jungfrau.
