Travel Tips from people who've been to Grindelwald
Grindelwald together with neighbouring Wengen are those places where you have to go/see to believe all it's sheer natural beauty. In the heart of the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland this is a magical area for walks of all levels.
My top recommendations are: going up by gondola from Grindelwald to Mannlichen to have an eye's bird view of the magnificent mountain trio: Eiger, Monch & Jungfrau.
Go on a train trip to Kleine Scheidegg where you can start one of the most amazing train journeys in the world: inside the mountains going up 3,475m to the out of this world Jungfraujoch: Europe's highest railway station involved in eternal snows. It has three restaurants,an ice palace, an Observatory that is part of an Alpine research station and from the famous Sphinx Observation Terrace the views of Aletsch Glacier (Europe's longest) and the Monch & Jungfrau defy description. This is the most surreal place I've ever been...
You can check MySwitzerland photo album if you're interested to know more of Switzerland, a must see country.

A gem, tiny as it is, in the Swiss Alps... while it offers the classic niceties of Alpine nature, food and calm, it is also a bit of a sporting and hiking place... check out the enthusiastic cyclists around the place...

If you're taking the train up to Jungfraujoch, you can park your car at the Grindelwald station for free (just next to the train station).

Althogh only 20km apart, you should allow 1 hour to drive from Interlaken to Grindelwald. The road is quite winy and in winter might be covered in snow at early mornings.
