Travel Tips from people who've been to Lauterbrunnen
Interested in hiking? Lauterbrunnen is a great starting point for day hikes with spectacular views of Jungfrau Mountain and surroundings. You will truly be amazed with Swiss ingenuity when you have hiked non stop up a heavily forested 45 degree angled trail for 3 hours and suddenly trip over a train track. Make a stop in a Lauterbrunnen shop to pick up your lunch before you set out and enjoy it later while taking in the view. Trail maps are available from shop keepers and from the campsite in Lauterbrunnen.

Amazing.  Take the train from Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen.  Then walk the valley (literally a 1/4 mile wide fairway valley with 3000 - 5000 foot sheer cliffs on both sides) to Stechelberg.  From here take the gondola to the top of the cliffs and walk/ride your way to Piz Gloria and the rotating restaurant, overlooking the Alsp and the Eiger (Bond movie filmed here).

Lauterbrunnen has plenty of waterfalls feathering down the valley walls, but be sure not to miss the Trummelbach waterfall, which has actually carved its way through the inside of the valley wall.  The Swiss have carved and blasted tunnels and stairs allowing you to get up close and personal to the many levels of the falls.
