A very, very beautiful but small city in Switzerland directly at the very nice lake of Constance. There are a couple very nice restaurants- Try The Pizzeria "La Luna" in the old city, the centro italiano, the "Seeparksaal" or go to the "Kebab Hüsli" to get the best Kebab ever! There are lots of different grocery stores and little shops like backeries and stuff. There are a couple clothing stores but for excessive shopping you should drive the 10 minutes over the "Autobahn" to get to St.Gallen. There you've got everything you want! Only 25 minutes by bus from arbon, there are theatres, restaurants, bars, clubs, museums und a great shopping street and mall! To go out at night, go to St.Gallen! In Arbon there are a couple nice places like the "Sambao", "Rotes Kreuz" or the "Schädler Turm" -Romantic! :) But there really isn't any club here. A very lovely city, with an old castle, old city, newer parts, there's the lake a great biker-lane along the lake that goes all the way to Kreuzlingen and ya, the people are friendly and outgoing. Oh and there's a great swimming pool as well! Access to the lake, four different baisins and a 1, 3, 5 and 10 meters diving platform. Arbon's really grand!!!
St.Gallen, in the east of Switzerland, my hometown.
Points of interest in the 70'000 people city near the lake of Konstanz:
- Cathedral and Stiftsbibliothek (one of the oldest and most beautiul church libraries in Switzerland) - both a must see!
- The old town with its beautiful houses and small streets invites to stroll along and enjoy a good freshly made hot chocolate in one of the many small caffees.
- A walk over "3 Weihern". The city lies in between two little mountains. A walk over one of these with its small beautiful lakes will show you a uniuqe sight over the city and the near lake Konstanz
- Love Theatre? We have a, until Germany and Austria, well known and beloved Theatre. Many grand actors are playing here. Ballet, Opera, Musicals, Plays - no wishes left!
St. Gallen is a beautiful small city in the north east of Switzerland, really near to the border with Germany, its buildings in the Old Town are beautifuly made with colorful fascades, I personally loved it, the transportation in the city is really easy, mostly you can walk, from the Old Town to the small business and art areas, otherwise, you can get bus passes for some sorta of period, like a month and else, I'd say the nightlife is also good, with good places where you can party, and the easy access, as everything is near, it's a perfect place to party all around the town, without problems.
