If you want to relax at a beautiful, quiet beach without any tourists, go to Matemwe. It is marvellous and a Place where I'd like to go on Honeymoon ;)

The city is clean and well kept. Pleasant walks and plenty of opportunities for great photos. Visit the fort. Walk around in the muslim market. Go on one of the trips arranged by local tourism to see the dolphins out in the sea. Includes usually a nice drive and walk in local typical villages. Highly recommended. Get mosquito spray, these are annoying as hell;.and bring malaria (take the profilactic tablets before coming here; talk to your local travel clinic).

Eco & Culture Tours are great if you want to do some activities for cheap, around the island and also be responsible while touring. They offer great tours and always try to make it a special encounter with the local culture every time. I strongly suggest the blue safari (Ukujuo boat trip) for an amazng day of beach, freshly caught seafood and snorkelling!
