New Providence Travel Guide

Avoid this place. It sucks bigtime. I have travelled the world and Nassau is in my bottom 10. Rude people, overpriced, nothing to see, bad food, dirty beaches and full of cheap tourists. Disgusting.

I stayed on land for a week most people do the cruise they don't get to see as much , we stayed along the water rented a condo/cottage on the strip  ,the water was  aqua  was breath taking. I spent a lot of time on the beach ,there was music ,bars , and lots of activitys on the beach.   It is a amazing place I went on a  booze cruise  and they took us all over diff islands , jet skiing was awsome jumping 7 or 8 ft waves i was scared at first ,but nothing like that feeling it may hurt a little but worth it, the food was ok just depends where you go,took trip for the day to the Atlantis hotel ,can we say amazing there was a aquarium the biggest i have ever seen. the middle bridge of the hotel is only for  big spenders the cost to stay there a nite was 25,000 lot of celebs stay there according to what they said. The casino that was fun to party in,the shops were awsome, You can spend the whole day there cuz there is so much to see it was screaming fine luxury. I had fun both times i went and the next time i go I want to see the pink sands island forgot the name of it ,but it looked nice, the best tip i can give you is when you are downtown don't let them rip you off they will try to get you to buy everything 3 x the price just tell them you seen it cheaper a few blocks down so you get it cheaper.

Nassau is a beautiful island to visit.  One of the Bahamas 700 islands is situated in some of the clearest and most beautiful water in the world. 

1. Try to stay on Cable Beach in one of the hotels.  Buses run from this area to the airport, and downtown for a small fee. 
2.  Everything there is very expensive, so try to get an all-inclusive.  (Otherwise, you will be spending $12 on a personal pan pizza.)
3. Definitely stop at Cafe Johnny Canoes- great food with reasonable prices
4. The US allows for each passenger to bring back 2 liters of alcohol.  Buy your rum there, and it's much cheaper with different varieties.
5. Stay to the main streets of Nassau city because it is easy to find your way in a "bad" area
6. We would highly recommend the City/Country tour that takes you around the island to some of the sites.
7. Don't be surprised if everyone on the street tries to give you a "free dinner" so that you can learn about time shares.  This is big business in that area.
8. Money is the same as the U.S.

Overall, a lot of fun to visit!
