Few travelers choose to stop at Kalkan when traveling to Turkey, and those that do usually only make a brief stop to see the Kalkan. Other places in the area such as Antalya and Belek may be more interesting to explore. If you do travel to Kalkan, please take some time to tell us about what you saw in this Kalkan travel guide.
Travel Tips from people who've been to Kalkan
Small fisherman harbor, located in the heart of the Teke Peninsula or ancient Lycia, Kalkan is a beautiful Mediterranean town.
With wonderful old houses with crumbling wooden balconies, spilling with begonvillas, the city is a mixture of Greek and Turkish architecture.
Kalkan is a perfect location for exploring the historic sites in the surrounding area: Tlos, Xanthos, Kekova & Simena, Pinara, Patara, Arycanda and many others.
Kaputas beach is a stunning and cozy sandy beach about 15 min away, while Patara has the perfect golden sand in this area.
