04232Learn a few words of Ukrainian. Western Ukraine is the heartland of Ukrainian nationalism. Russian is not just bad, it is evil. We met a young American high school girl on her way home to the U.S. after a year in Ivano Franky. She was sent their as an exchange student to learn Russian. When she saw us in the airport she burst into tears and sobbed her story ending it with a pitiful "They don't like Russians here." Talk about understatement.
