Questions answered about visiting L'viv
Hey there!
I am preparing a trip to go through Slovakia, Poland and Ukraine and would like to pass through Lvivska Oblast.
I am hoping to find interesting guide (guides) based in Lviv or its neighborhood.
And also a good transport company using minibuses for up to 20 passengers (our groups are usually arround 16).
Any advice will be strongly appreciated.
Anybody willing to meet in person in Lviv? I am planning to visit your beautiful town on the 5th or 6th of November 2009.
if so please drop me a message to matej.sanitrar@viacarpathia.com
thanx
Matej I will be in Lviv, Ukraine as a volunteer for the UEFA EURO 2012. I need to find myself affordable accommodation during that time. Can anyone help me with that? Anyone in here going there for the same reasons who might want to share a flat? Ask a travel question about L'viv
Travel Tips from people who've been to L'viv
Never buy Hrivna in Poland, it's a ripp-off Good tip? (+1) L'viv it is very beautifull but destroyed by time and bad guvernment city. From there comes many Polish Intelectuals and in the past it was one of the strongest (Humanistic) Polish Cities. I would strongly recommend to go there. It is really nice. Y will find there something diferent from Western Cities like in Germany. You can travel there with "Marshrutkas" but really I don't know exatly how it works but IT WORKS! Very helpfull will be somebody from Lvov on the beginning to show Y what is going on there. The best and cheapest way to get there is by coach bus from Lublin (Poland). Y can take also train directly from Krakow (Poland) or Warsaw (Poland). I wish Y nice time there. (I spent there New Year Party) and some days on way to Krymus, (black see) Good tip? (0) Visit the opera house. Although L'viv is a small town, the opera house is grand. We saw Aida with friends while visiting. While the opera itself was 2nd string, the opera house itself is first rate.
The first time we visited, the hotels were still not very good. We stayed with some friends of friends of friends. This was a step beyond hosteling. The second time we stayed at the Grand Hotel in the center of town. The Grand was nice enough to bring almost any tourist, even my wife. Good tip? (0)
