Oxford street is a good place for shopping. Also books are plenty and cheap.

A great little place in the middle of nowhere. It's the nearest railway station to Shell Island camping resort. There are no taxi or public transport options to get to the resort. There's a rule against 'single sex parties' at Shell Island but this is explicitly for hen/stag nights and doesn't mean gay/lesbian travellers are unwelcome, in fact there's a gay group that regularly visits.

edinburgh is one of my all time favorite places in the world. its the perfect mix of history and modernity. the royal mile is incredible.  with pubs standing from centuries ago, haunted buildings, traditional kilt makers and castles, the royal (also known as the old) mile is cobbled and crowded and but never to be missed. i can attest to Brodey's hostel. very international and friendly and safe. perfect for a single female should you be traveling alone like i was. its also close to the world's end pub. its one of the oldest pubs in edinburgh. amazing traditional scottish fare, friendly and warm with both locals and tourists. located at the far end of the royal mile in edinburgh it truly was the end of the world.  it was the outskirts of the city and the city itself used to be the outskirts of what was thought of as civility in scotland before you went into the so called 'barbarous' highlands. the new mile is across the river and is as modern and fast paced as the royal mile is meandering and historic. i cant sing edinburgh's praises loud enough, or the highlands either. 

Some attraction are, Gay Pride in the summer, the Brighton festival, the peir, seafront and loads of hotels. Goidd for clubbing, shopping and pubs.

Slimelight is one of the best clubs of cyber-goth, industrial, darkwave, ebm. You must visit it! It's a must if you want to relate with one of the best music clubs in London.

Famous for the historical contributions by Robert Owen and his outlook on improving society, this town has much to offer. Tour his home, the factories and factory worker's homes, etc. Very educational and inspiring. Good place to take children for a class field trip or other educational outing.

There is something for everybody in this town. World Famous golfing opportunities are some of the many attractive features in St. Andrews. The University of St. Andrews has a beautiful campus with serene gardens. Visit the many museums, the botanical gardens, theatres and art centers. Walking tours are offered. One of my favorite places.
