People in Alabama
Mobile, Alabama, United States
Mobile is the last largest city in Alabama. Also the prettiest in my opinion. Its the cleanest and safest with very beautiful suburbs, like loxley, foley, spanish fort, and daphne. The style is very southern and charming. The people there are the nicest i've come across in all the places i've been to in the world. They are classy, sweet, and super friendly. Mobile hotels are not cheap, but the further into the suburbs you go the cheaper the rates. Mobile offers a huge navy ship that is located in mobile bay, which you can see from the highway. I believe it's called battlefield park. I never got a chance to go on the ship but it is free to whomever wants to check it out. Mobile was hit by hurricane katrina which you can still see some remenants from the storm. The mobile highway which stretches from the city to the suburbs over the bay was knocked over into the water and had to be rebuilt. You can still see boats sitting in odd places, stuck in marshy waters, as well as hotel buildings with the windows and everything inside blown away, so all you see is the structure itself. Mobile and the surrounding area offer very good food. The best buffet food i've ever eaten was at a place called ryan's. Its $10 a plate all you can eat with the freshest food and yummy southern recipes. To live in the mobile area is also very cheap. you can rent a house for 700, but thats out in the suburbs of say loxely or foley. The area is very close to gulf shores which sits right on the gulf of mexico. To get there is about 40 minutes, but the beaches there are beautiful and when its on season its busy busy and not cheap. it's definitely a tourtist destination. gulf shores is also 20 mins from pensacola.

Muscle Shoals, Alabama, United States
There's a music history museum here that's pretty cool. A lot of people think Alabama is all about country music, but the Rolling Stones recorded their album Sticky Fingers at one of the recording studios in this town

Dauphin Island, Alabama, United States
Beautify sandy beaches on this island just off the Alabama shore. Be sure to watch out for jelly fish certain times of the year, you'ld hate to have to have (?) someone pee on you. (look it up) The marine wildlife center is great. Its facinating to watch the pelicans fly by in their straight lines, unlike ducks and geese in their vee's.

Lake Purdy, Alabama, United States
A Great place to enjoy peace and quiet in the middle of the busy city! You don't even know one of the busiest intersections is just 3-4 miles away. Great place to fish, row, enjoy fall colors, paddle boat and get away without going too far away!

Madison, Alabama, United States
Madison is a college town through and through. But even if you're not going to school at the University of Wisconsin outpost here, it's a fun place to visit. Everyone is going to point you to State Street, but that's all they can really do; much of the rest of Madison is taking on that could-be-anywhere-in-America character with strip malls and big box stores crowding the surrounding plains. State Street has some fun, independent shops and some quite good and cheap restaurants, though I hear more chains are making their way in. The lake is another attraction, though on a sunny day, you'll have to jockey for position among all of the students.
