For a very good meal, eat at the El Tovar Dining Room. The service is quite good, and the food is excellent. The portions are large so consider splitting your main course, especially if you plan desert. You have to make reservations but you do not have to dress up.

The Grand Canyon is a great big hole in the ground and I expected more than that for some reason. The village is essentially there to sell souvenirs... indian turquoise and silver jewellery and dream catchers.... ho hum. The walk into the canyon is like Paris Hilton; demanding and pointless.
