Arizona People & Culture
Casa Grande, Arizona, United States Rapidliy growing city and a great pit stop if traveling from Phoenix to Tucson. Very nice helpful people and John Wayne lived there in the old days. Good tip? (+2) Phoenix, Arizona, United States A friend once commented while flying over Phoenix, "When civilization fails, and it will, because that's what civilizations do, these people will die first." There are few places in this country with such a flagrant disregard for water use or environmentally-friendly urban planning. The desert to the east of the city is gorgeous, though. Take some time to drive the winding desert road from Apache Junction to Tortilla Flat. It is absolutely stunning. Good tip? (0) Grand Canyon, Arizona, United States If you want to go down the canyon, get up at two o'clock in the morning and watch the sunrise from down there - no people around you. Take your breakfast with you. If you start your way back up to the plateau by half past seven, you'll be back again by ten. (before the masses of tourists and the moulis get in your way). Buy Ice and fill it in your bottle. Good tip? (0) Grand Canyon, Arizona, United States Don't try and see how far you can throw a rock into the canyon. People will tell you off because there are tourists taking treks down there! Good tip? (0) Tucson, Arizona, United States Do not judge Tucson, AZ by driving on I10. Anyone that has ever driven on I10 through Tucson knows it is not a pretty site. There are some beautiful areas and not so beautiful but that is like anywhere. There is a great mixture of people and cultures. Some of the attractions there are Old Tucson and Desert Museum. Good tip? Good tip? (0) Cameron, Arizona, United States Went to the Cameron trading post. Wide variety of genuine Navajo goods. A stop worthwhile. Open til 9pm. Nice people too. Good tip? (0) Flagstaff, Arizona, United States Be sure to hit up Bookman's on Milton Rd. for great used books, music, movies and videogames. Good tip? (0) Queen Creek, Arizona, United States San Tan Flat The coolest western style bar i have ever been to. they have real saddles instead of bar stools and personal fire pits all around the dance floor in the courtyard, they even sell smore kits for desert and live music every night. Good tip? (0) Mesa, Arizona, United States Rooster's has 5 cent draft night every Thurday! Also, Live music! Best Country Bar in the Valley! Good tip? (+1) Tucson, Arizona, United States If you love hiking, don't miss Pima Canyon! Good tip? (0) Patagonia, Arizona, United States The thing that Patagonia is known for is its lake. Great fishing, fun swimming and definitely the place for jet and water skiing. It's a great place for camping as well as RV-ing as there are water and gas hook-ups. Random fact: Matt Maynard is Patagonia High School's boys soccer coach, who have made it to state championships in their division 3 consecutive years. Check out some of their games if you go during the season! Good tip? (0) Phoenix, Arizona, United States Phoenix is a great place to hangout with friends, relax at home, or go hiking and other activities. Although it gets pretty hot it lacks the humidity factor which is always a good thing. Good tip? (0) Lake Montezuma, Arizona, United States IWhenvisiting this ancient Indian site in Arizona be sure to take a short hike along the lower path to view the irrigation ditches and troughs. Kids will enjoy splashing one another and okay so will the big people is the fst running cool water that flows out of the bottom of the lake. Good tip?
