Travel Tips from people who've been to Little Rock
If you are in the Little Rock area in mid June make sure to check out the American Taekwondo Association world tournament. It is held once a year in the convention/ Peabody hotel. There are thousands of competitors ranging in age and rank that compete. After the tournament, make sure you check out the H.U. Lee Gate and Garden just outside of the convention center. Its beautiful.
DOE’S EAT PLACE A skid-row dive turned power brokers’ watering hole with huge steaks, great tamales and broiled shrimp, and killer burgers at lunch. A favorite hangout for politicos – especially President Clinton! 1023 W. Markham St. Full bar CC $$-$$$ 376-1195. LD Mon.-Sat.
The River Market is great place to enjoy Little Rock nightlife. You can visit the Clinton Presidential Library then walk down to the River Market and enjoy many different kinds of restaurants and nightspots. My favorites, Flying Saucer, Flying Fish, and Willie D's dueling piano bar.
