People in Arkansas
Fayetteville, Arkansas, United States
Oh, Fayetteville. I've lived here for about 9 years and my family still lives in the area. I've seen lots of things come and go, but more recently things have just been coming and coming. It's grown probably three fold since I've lived there. With the Walmart Home Offices in nearby Bentonville, the Tyson Home Offices in neighborly Springdale, the whole northwest corner of Arkansas has been rapidly booming for some time. The last time I visited, most noteworthy places to eat were the Greenhouse Grill (all organic foods prepared in exquisite fashion) and the Marketplace (All around menu - chicken, steak, salads, pasta, and desserts that are out of this world). There are shopping centers galore and the people generally have that southern hospitality and charm.

Just another town really not much to see or do, I wouldn't recommend it unless you know people or have relatives there.

It was the basis for the Burt Reynolds show in the early 90's. Stay on the main road. People are friendly and the girls are horny.

Curious daily event at the Peabody hotel...every morning a parade of ducks (real ducks!) take the elevator down to the lobby and on a red carpet walk towards the hotel's fountain accompanied by classical music. Bizarre!

If you are in the Little Rock area in mid June make sure to check out the American Taekwondo Association world tournament. It is held once a year in the convention/ Peabody hotel. There are thousands of competitors ranging in age and rank that compete. After the tournament, make sure you check out the H.U. Lee Gate and Garden just outside of the convention center. Its beautiful.

Arkansas Government
Hope, Arkansas, United States
If you like watermelon, or chickens this is a good place for you. Hope Arkansas is famous for it's watermelons. Bill Clinton was born here but the watermelons are still the best thing they produced. Washington State Park is close by.
From 1863-1865, Old Washington was the site of the Confederate capitol of Arkansas after the fall of Little Rock to Union forces. The original Arkansas Confederate capital, where the refugee government fled, still exists in the park. It is a part of the Camden Expedition Sites National Historic Landmark, a reference to Camden, the seat of Ouachita County in southern Arkansas.
