Located in the central valley of California, Sacramento is the capital city of California.  This historical city served as a hub during the gold rush, and various historical buildings remain today, including the Sutter Fort and the Railroad Museum and Old Town Sacramento.  Sacramento centre also has numerous arts and community buildings, and the city serves as a good stopover point for some of California's best river-rafting routes.

Tuesday nights, go get yourself a damn taco. Taco Tuesday @ The Flame Club (16th & V downtown) has the best tacos in town for $1 and the strongest drinks in town for $2.25. How could you go wrong? If you get drunk enough to handle hipsters, wander up the street to 10th & S to Old Ironsides for Lipstick, a $3 dance party that gets packed each week!   Yeah, that's a slice of Sac right there. Oooh, next time - slices! So much good pizza in downtown Sac! :)

We stayed on the Delta King, a riverboat that is docked in Old Sacramento. It was tiny, but really cute! They also have dinner theater and and restaurant and bar on the boat. It's right across the drawbridge from Sacramento River Cats baseball stadium. We shopped around in Old Sac, did some geocaching and ate at Joe's Crab Shack.
