0191What's not to love about Lake Tahoe? It's a beautiful body of water that has all the fun water activities surrounded by gorgeous mountains. Summer is nice but winter is divine... some of my best memories are skiing Heavenly with the lake and mountains as backdrops. And for adults, the gambling/nightlife is a big draw at night (not that you'd catch me at the blackjack table... that would be my amateur gamblin' mom!!!)

016119You have the option of doing the "natural" thing and hiking, biking, kayaking, etc. Or you can go down the street to the Nevada border and gamble at one of the many casinos (one has a Hard Rock Cafe). Either way, it's a fun place with beautiful scenery all along the lake. We did a "dinner & dancing" cruise on the lake that was worth it.

002Good ski resorts during the winter and great views and water activities during the summer. Just outside of town is the town of Stateline which has all the casinos and nightlife. South Lake Tahoe itself has great golf courses and bike trails during the summer. The main resort in the area is Heavenly which is in the heart of town.
