Travel Tips from people who've been to Yosemite Village
If you head for the very top of the Yosemite Falls starting from the village and you are not intending to stay the nigth outdoors, make sure you start early in morning. Why? Well it's no fun if you arrive at the top just at dusk when have started around noon, especially when you are aware of beeing in bear and mountain lion country. Lucky you if you meet the bear. It might happen by chance I was told. With the mountain lion for sure it isn't.
Well you might say it's more likely to fall of the path than encounter with wild animals of this size especaially when your only tool to help you see where you are going is a small flashlight. Anyway, I still got the tennisball-sized stone I carried in the other hand... Just for safty.

Right in the heart of one of the biggest and best National Parks in the world.  This valley was carved from solid granite by a glacier millions of years ago.  Wildlife visits the village daily from dear to brown bears, they drink in the stream that runs slowly alongside the road.  Best way to pick up everything thats on offer in a short time is to book the open top bus tour, book this from the lobby in the lodges. Walking tours are on offer each day some early ones for photography are great.

Be sure to inform yourself on the available types of accomodation. Prices start at a preposterous $99 for a one-lightbulb tent with shared sanitary facilities. Luxury hotelrooms also available but if you want luxury at $400-1100 a night, stay in the city!
Even more important: be sure to make reservations before taking the 3-5 hour drive down to the park. We had to switch accomodations on two consecutive nights for the last available smelly room and tent.
