Many people stop here to go up Pike's Peak. At the risk of stating the obvious, it get's VERY cold at the top of the peak. Bring long pants and a sweater even if it is 90 down below. Also, while the cheap doughnuts up top look tempting, they have a tendency to expand in the stop on the descent. For the fit, try biking down the peak.

Very welcomed change if you're trying to get away from the 'Big City' - no shortage of anything here It is still a realtively new city compared to a couple years ago. And the people here are pretty nice. You'll notice a lot of people like to stay active and keep busy and there's all sorts of parks and places to go visit and walk around in. If you like water .. its all land locked. the closest thing to water you're going to get is man-mad lakes and fountains. There's rivers up towards the mountains though. Hard to get lost here. Lots of pretty good places to eat. This place is a desert so be sure to drink lots of clean fluids - less soda. I had some trouble breathing for a half-minute and had to use nasal decongestent to thin my blood and adjust to the altitude.
