Travel Tips from people who've been to Connecticut
Well... My first time in the USA... New Haven was the first city I could explore... Beautiful... Not bigger than my little hometown in Germany... There's so much to see (and to photograph)... Yale... It just looks beautiful... Beautiful buildings... Another thing I can say is that it is much cheaper than Europe, their financial status is equal to most of the people in Germany BUT it seems like they are much poorer in the USA... But the people there are great! Nightlife... Yeah, Partner's, always a good one... ;-) Or Rudy's Bar... :-) What else? Mamoun's Falafel! It's really great...!!! Go there, tell them a story about all your tats and piercings and you'll get some ice tea for free... ;-) I miss New Haven (and the people there) ;-) Good tip? Drive up the hill and around the bend. Turn right across from the Evergreen Walk. Park and walk into the store. It's cheap as hell but everything is high-end (mostly women's clothing though they do have a small men's section). It's incredible. It's heaven. I got some gorgeous pearls for 1$ and got cashmere sweaters for 5$! They have Pink, Abercrombie, Polo, Juicy, anything you might want... Good tip? (0) Two things to Know about Quinnipiac:
1. Parents, it's the home to a solid school, Quinnipiac Univeristy, which is one of CT's and the Northeast's little secrets for collegiate education. UConn, Yale, and Wesleyan usually take the limelight, but Quinnipiac holds its own against UConn.
2. There's the famous "Sleeping Giant," which is an unique sight. When driving into Quinnipiac, you'll see the forest canopy form the outline of a "Sleeping Giant." Take your camera.
