Fort Lauderdale Travel Guide

If you plan on going to Ft. Lauderdale keep in mind that the city flows into its neighbors because it has outskirts. The food and restraunts include regular fast food, and olive garden, and a few chinese, spanish, and mexican restraunts. It is a generally nice city and everyone is usually very hospitable in my experience. As for transportation, you have the Ft. Lauderdale airport nearby, buses, and a train station in Deerfield which is only 6 or 7 miles away. If you are coming from up north than keep in mind that you NEED SUNSCREEN even fifteen minuets can burn you. You guys forget it soooooooooo often that we have occasionally made jokes like "how do you tell who is a tourist and who isn't- Ones that came today are pale, and ones that came yesterday are as red as a lobster, so everyone who is tanned is a native south floridian. Best hotels are in Ft. Lauderdale which is only 10 miles away but there are some hamptons and things like that. Beaches are very crowded so get there early!
