Travel Tips from people who've been to Key West
Be very careful. If anything says grain alcohol, believe it. Also if you see rain find a bar and enjoy the show. Good tip? (+1) When we went to Key West, we did parasailing and the guys who took us told that they will take our photos for 30$ per group. We were like 9 people (each of three batches) and they said they will do it for 90$. We thought it was worth it cause we dint carry the camera as we were going to get wet. Finally when we came back and checked the photos in the CD. It was all just one group. They gave us 2 cds and it was full of just 3 people and the photos were not good at all. They claimed it as professional photography and it was no where close. Please avoid this and save some money. Good tip? (0) Renting Scooters and Golf Carts to tour the island. There are plenty of places to rent these scooters and golf carts, don't simply select the first one you see. Shop around. Also if you plan is to just hit the state beach, just take a cab it'll be cheaper, its a bit too far to walk but a cheap cab ride. There is not a whole lot to see outside of the downtown core anyway so don't think you need a golf cart to drive all around. We did and spent about $120 US for a 6 seater. In the end it was not worth it, but we had fun. Good tip? (0)
