Another great city I know as well like my pocket :-) I've been there for some months and survived few hurricanes and it wasnt that bad at all.. Hmm.. like I used to start from the hostel - one of the best ideas is to find apartment and rent it with friends, actually all of them has own pool so after long hot day you can enjoy nice eve and cooling in water :-) and no crocodiles or aligators in it!!! For most of the time i stayed close to International Drive, one of the main roads, in front of the Sea World, but you can also find nice places in Kissimmee or Buena Vista. There are some places that live only latin or caribean people but this is also good oportunity to learn some spanish :-) To move there and around the best idea is renting car in famous places on international airport like Hertz or other (but you need debit card) or move with the buses which have great conection with all of the most important places like shopping centers, hospitals, down town and all of attractions What to see besides Disney World? hmm.. You definitely must go to Wet'n'Wild the best aquapark ever :-) You cannot miss Universal Studios too, and if you love diving and nature then should try swimming with delfins in Discovery Cove! There is many mini-crazy golfs parks for young and old and created with such a fantasy! Where make shopping? Belz Factory Outlet at West Oakridge, Florida Mall, Walgreens at International Drive.. Where to eat? I always liked and enjoyed Fridays with their hot (spicy) meals, original italian food at very familiar Olive Garden restaurant on International Drive but they are many many more to see and try! I cant say if thats worthy to go to discos because for the half of the year which i spent over there i have been there only once, but i can definitely recomend going to Down Town at night and take some walk and drink.. lovely atmosphere though people will tell you very risky and dangerous, but what is not dangerous on the world, come on :-) To know more.. get a Lonely Planet travel guide or send me message, lol

I was in Florida several times and everytime we went to some amusement parks. From my point of view the Universal Studios were the best out of all these (Disney World, MGM Studios, Sea World and the Universal Studios are the ones we've been to). Sure all of those parks have grown over the years and each of them is worth a visit, but I loved the Universal Studios 3 In the end it was the only park we visited because going to all of them is quite expensive!

Homestead, Florida, United States
The Everglades. AMAZING. Going during the dry season is the best time of the year because its when you'll see the most wildlife. Alligators, anhinga, ibis, woodstorks, vultures, turtles, gar, anoles, herons, egrets, cormorants, tree snails, pelicans, spoonbills, etc. Amazing experience.

Florida Internet & Communications
Riverview, Florida, United States
A suburb of Tampa. Has everything you need to survive, stores, post office, Brandon Mall is close by. Overall it's a place to live and call home but all the action and nightlife is found in Tampa's Ybor City or on the Pinellas beaches. The best beach in my opinion is an hours drive to Bradenton Beach.

Look on the internet for a public transportation map before you go. Its a great cheap and easy way to get to your hotel because a taxi can be expensive!

Orlando, Florida, United States
When staying in Orlando, I have found that it can be more economical to rent a furnished house instead of staying in a hotel or condo. A lot of the houses have inground pools and Florida porches but with privacy. A definate perk for sure, you don't have to share! Do searches on the internet for vacation properties. Twice I have rented houses for less than the cost of a hotel. Also, you have a fully equipped kitchen so you can save money on eating out as well.

Florida Photography
Miami, Florida, United States
If you are a skyscraper buff or someone interested in modern architecture or if you are someone who likes to take pictures of eithe of these, be prepared to take a lot of pictures in downtown Miami. I never really paid much attention to the opening credits in CSI Miami until I got down there on a spectacularly clear spring day and saw all those superbly photogenic buildings etched against the sky. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Merritt Island, Florida, United States
Merritt Island is a spectacular place to observe a myriad of wildlife during any time of the year. The best time for birdwatching is likely in the fall as migratory species make their way from the colder north to the warmer areas of the refuge. During our three hour visit to the refuge, we observed all eastern species of herons, egrets, and the wood stork, ospreys, bald eagles, 3 species of hawks, over a dozen distinct songbirds, plovers, and anhingas. Reptiles also make this a worthwhile venture. When we stopped on a driving trail, I greeted a two-meter-long alligator as it merged from the water (see my album for a photo). I also encountered an eastern diamondback rattlesnake and some nonvenomous colubrids, as well as anoles and turtles. Though a manatee observation deck is in place, we did not observe any manatees here, and other mammal species were missing as well. In the butterfly garden located at the Visitor Center, you may observe golden orb weaver spiders and their man-sized webs. A wildlife lover's dream spot! And all of it free.
As an added bonus, Kennedy Space Center is across a small bay from the refuge and Merritt Island offers sensational views of shuttle launches.

Key West, Florida, United States
When we went to Key West, we did parasailing and the guys who took us told that they will take our photos for 30$ per group. We were like 9 people (each of three batches) and they said they will do it for 90$. We thought it was worth it cause we dint carry the camera as we were going to get wet. Finally when we came back and checked the photos in the CD. It was all just one group. They gave us 2 cds and it was full of just 3 people and the photos were not good at all. They claimed it as professional photography and it was no where close. Please avoid this and save some money.

Gatorland Zoo is one of my favorite places to visit. The size of the gators, the photo op with a baby alligator and a snake, feeding animals, play areas, bizarre eating opportunities...this park has it all.

The Doubletree Castle hotel had excellent customer service and accommodations...the pool was large and surprisingly vacant so i was able to enjoy it--there is an enchanted castle ambiance that everyone will love--adults and children alike!
