Travel Tips for History of Georgia

Cumberland Island, Georgia, United States
If you have the opportunity to visit, don't pass it up. The history of the island goes back years, as does the preservation. This means you get to see wild horses, turkeys (and maybe a boar!!). Bring bug spray, no matter what time of the year! Bring a water bottle, and remember your beach towel, even if you just use it to lay on. And by all means, don't forget your camera!! Plan ahead to catch the ferry, sometimes it is already booked!

Fort Benning, Georgia, United States
Lived there for 18 months and loved it. There is a lot of military history in the area and civil war history. Loved this area. The southen cooking is GREAT, and onpost there is so much to see and experience - if you take the opportunity to see what is around you. Airborne school, AMU, Rangers, Sand Hill, Harmony Church, Frier Field... it is great

Savannah, Georgia, United States
I really liked Savannah (even though I still prefer its northern counterpart, Charleston). You'll definitely want to take a tour either on one of the trolleys or by foot as there is a lot of history that is pretty fascinating. And, for nightline, there's plenty of that, so be sure to take a nap before going out. Just make sure you are with some friends as there are some dark areas in different parts of the city that many be a little scary, especially if you went on the ghost tour earlier that evening. :)
