Travel Tips from people who've been to Kentucky
Be sure to jump off 275 on either Turkeyfoot or Dixi Hwy to stop in at the Crestveiw Hills Mall area - loads of good food (Panara, Ribs Joints, The Pub*, Aburello's*, and McAllister's) all great places to eat (*=a must!!) There's also a Cold Stone Creamery and a Starbuck's, but if you want same quality coffee at a better price, along with the option to sit and chill or wander around browsing books and music, then hit the coffee shop in Borders. There are also some very nice quality clothing shops and a couple of upper-end furnature and electronics shops too. Need something cheaper? Go a little farther out Dixi Hwy (past the Mall area) and you'll get a few more restuarants and gas stations, and some Walgreens and K-mart stops. Otherwise, nothing much to do there but browse and shop and look at the expensive homes that are around that area... Good tip? (0) The four things you HAVE to do when you visit Louisvlle: 4th Street Live, old downtown used to be pretty bogus but this covered block of bars and nightclubs really improved the scenery, take in Bardstown Road; the different mix of bars, cafes and eclectic shops can make anyone feel at home, Claudia Sanders Restaurant (otherwise known as the Colonel's Lady), about 35 minutes outside of downtown Louisville but worth the visit to the joint started by Colonel Sanders (you know KFC) and his wife - great prices and really authentic...finally, Derby Day, it's the first saturday in May every year and one of the biggest parties in the world! Good tip? (0) Inez is a quaint little town located in the moutains of Ky. It is a very small town just off of I 64 and rt 23 and 645. It has 1 Dairy Queen, 1 Tacco Bell/ Kentucky Fried Chicken, 1 McDonalds, 3 pizza places 1 called Pizza Stop and 1called Pizza Mart and it's newist attraction is it's Papa John's...most of wich are attached to a gas stations...You can go to the rec. center located in the center of town for games, shopping, Day Care, the movies and lots of other intresting things...Blended in with the small town are diffrent hotels and motels...2 that I can think of...
