When you arrive at the French Quarter be sure to find Jackson Square and then explore the rest of the Quarter. It will help you orient yourself as you shop and explore the Quarter. Give yourself plenty of time; there is a ton of fun, interesting shops to see. If you don't want to drink to excess, then stay off Bourbon Street. Bars are all Bourbon Street has to offer.
