Minnesota is often portrayed as some sort of barren snow field. However cold our winters can be, we have distinct seasons, and on the contrary a very hot and humid summer. Minnesota has farmlands to the south and turns more and more into woodlands the further north you get. Minneapolis/St.Paul is the hot spot for entertainment, nightlife, and shopping. The Northern region is a great spot for camping, white water rafting, and other more extreme outdoor sports. Because MN is the "land of 10,000 lakes" Water sports are prevelant in almost EVERY town. Boating, swimming, water skiing, jet skiing and the such can be found almost anywhere. So whatever your interest, Minnesota has something for everyone!

Travel Tips from people who've been to Minnesota
Would go to the Mystic Lake casino often.   The first time I had 10 dollars for free. Also you can earn money by playing games.   Also points that let you go further up and get discounts off on food or if you have enough money on players card, to just use that for food or more play, or just take home all depends on what you decide to do. I had a few free meals from them plus the winnings that I had. The buffet is pretty decent with lots of choices from Mexican, prime rib (at times), italian, pizza, salads, soups, vietnamese meatballs, chinese food, and deserts.   Choices of drinks of soda, tea, coffee, or juices. If buffet isn't your thing there also is a steak restaurant, a little deli called gamblers grill, and minne haha for breakfast or typical foods. Also not far is Canterbury race track that has hold em tournaments and  a few table games as well as horse races.

Well there is a lot to do and see in the Bloomington area, just south of Minneapolis. For those of you who aren't aware, the Mall of America is there. Plenty of hotel accomodations and our public transportation system is improving, but not and thing close to Chicago or Germany. Fort Snelling has pelnty to see. Its the oldest Fort I believe in the upper midwest. Built during the pioneer days of exploration, it served as a hospital and trading post. Its right on the Minnesota River. There are plenty of restaurants and sports bars in the area. Valley Fair Amusement Park is close by, as well as Canturberry Park and Mystic Lake Casino for you gamblers out there. If you want to experience Minnesota Nice....you have to go up north for that, cause folks wont give you the time of day in these parts.
