A large number of travelers choose to pay Omaha a visit when traveling to the United States, as Omaha has some very nice museums, wildlife watching, and parks. It's definitely worth stopping over several days in Omaha, as it is the number one travel spot in the United States's Nebraska region. Popular attractions include the Henry Doorly Zoo and Childrens' Museum. There's a lot more to check out in Omaha, so be sure to look around the Omaha travel guide for more things to see and do.
Travel Tips from people who've been to Omaha
When going to Omaha in the fall, there are two places that you cannot miss: Vala's pumpkin patch is fun for the entire family.  It has a few rides, many stores filled with wonderful things, a pumpkin cannon, a corn maze, a petting zoo, and of course, a pumpkin patch! Scary Acres is for the teenagers and adults.  It is probably the most popular haunt in nebraska at this time of year.  It is about 25 dollars for every attraction, so come with wallets packed!

Visit the Henry Doorly Zoo when you're here. It's #1 in the world. Largest indoor rain forest, largest bird sanctuary, largest monkey complex, indoor desert (and the Kingdoms of the Night exhibit in the basement is fantastic), top notch aquarium with shark tunnel... It had been #2 to San Diego but just passed it up with the completion of some more large exhibits. Even during winter it's great since most of the best stuff is all indoors.

Every first weekend in May, Omaha is home to Berkshire Hathaway's annual shareholder meeting "Woodstock for Capitalists", hosted by Warren Buffet.  You need to own (or have a friend who owns) at least one share of class B stock to gain admission.  Well worth the investment. Book your hotel about a year in advance!
