Travel Tips from people who've been to Reno
For everyone planning to travel to Reno, Nevada at any point in time, you'd be advised to look online for hotel sales often! They have some AMAZING deals online often that they don't advertise overly well. The Silver Legacy Hotel and Resort in particular is one that I would recommend. It's not exactly your Hilton standard place, but it's great for a student like myself searching for something a little nicer and very affordable during a sale or shared with friends.

In general, Reno is a fun place to get away to for a few days, taken in some light entertainment, gamble a little, and do it all affordabley (unless you've got a gambling problem, in which case, don't go to Nevada at all!). And remember my fellow Canadians and all other world-wide travellers... .FREE Alcoholic beverages for all those gambling in the casino! Even if you're like me and you play nickel and penny slots at a snails pace for several hours. I call it the laid back man's Vegas! Enjoy!

Reno can be a great place to enjoy the outdoor recreation by day and Casino and clubs by night. If you love the outdoors Reno is a 45 minute drive from Lake Tahoe, which has 17 ski resorts ranging form World class Olympic resorts like Squaw Valley and Heavenly to small picturesque lakeside family resorts like Homewood and Diamond Peak. After a great day of skiing head back down the hill to enjoy a night of entertainment and gambling. In downtown Reno there is a strip of hotels and casinos ranging from tiny $29 holes in the wall to Big resorts like Silver Legacy and Circus Circus. Whatever your budget is with a little research you can have a great trip in the Reno/Tahoe area.
