Travel Tips from people who've been to Hoboken
Its almost the 6th borough of NYC, but on the Jersey side. Jersey City being the 7th. Use the PATH Train and Hudsen/Bergen Light Rail to get around.

Must visit, but has seedy areas. Be MORE alert than you would be in Manhattan, on par with Brooklyn.

Honestly, when I lived in NYC, hoboken was a place to avoid.  We considered it B&T.  However, if visiting NY, it is a cheaper place to stay, and you can get into the city quickly.
