Travel Tips from people who've been to Las Vegas
Even if you don't gamble (we don't) Vegas is a great place to visit. The choice of hotels is overwhelming. With three Cirque du Soleil shows to see and all the other entertainment, you will not be bored for a minute. Death Valley is a short drive away. Definitely take a drive to Mount Pleasant...a forested world away from desert-bound Vegas and only minutes away! Then there's Hoover Dam (go early in the morning...the parking becomes impossible after 10 a.m.). Needless to say now, Vegas has become a dining destination with numerous superb restaurants! So, forget dumping your money on the gambling tables, eat, drink, go to shows and get out and see the sights around Vegas.
If you can get a hotel in the middle of the strip, this will act as a good base as there are some many things to do other than casinos.
This is the land of make-believe, and as long as you remember that, no one's feelings get hurt and everyone has a good time.
