Travel Tips from people who've been to Astoria
the Benjamin Young Inn, a local B&B right across the street from the Goonies house, overlooks the Columbia River waterfront. Great place to stay... we came on a last-minute weekend trip to the coast and all the "normal" hotels were full, so we ended up here. Our hostess was very gracious and accomodating, we even had a refrigerator stocked with complimentary beverages at our disposal. The inn itself is fascinating and historic; it even has that old-house smell that smacks of ghost stories and dark, dusty secrets. Breakfast the next morning with silver, crystal and china in the dining room overlooking the waterfront brought us face to face with our fellow travelers, from diverse places such as the United Kingdom, California, and southern Oregon. Price was more than a "normal" hotel, but then, we had an out of the ordinary experience.
