High Point, North Carolina, United States
high point is actually a ghost town. only picks up life when the furniture fair is on. and furniture people, especially americans and asian, are not exactly the kind of people you'd like to spend your time with. I say this being one of them (albeit Italian). There's plenty of suicide-inducing aspects to the town: curfew is at 9 pm (after that is whorehouses and / or uselessly expensive restaurants), houses are few and far between with enough land to justify a good horror movie, there is no music or arts or cultural scene. The good part is a beautiful and crisp air, a lot of green (nice in the daylight, creepy at night). The best accomodation solution is to rent a house: all the ones I've been in were ridiculously large and well-fitted.

Carolina Beach, North Carolina, United States
The best time to go to this beach, if you want to be alone and not have to worry about the busy state of tourist, is around the fall/winter. It is completely quiet. It is a wonderful beach to relax and have a romantic get-away with the one you love.

Asheville, North Carolina, United States
Best time to go to Asheville in in the spring and fall. It gets way too crowed in the summer time with tourists. Asheville autumn is one of the most stunning autumns you'll ever see.

North Carolina Internet & Communications
Fayetteville, North Carolina, United States
Fayetteville, North Carolina was named after the famous pirate from the revolutionary war, John LaFayette. Fayetteville NC is the fourth largest metropolitan in North Carolina. Fayetteville NC is a place you want to be FROM. Fayetteville NC is affectionatly called "Fayette-Nam" by military members who live there. The median age for men is 20 years old. The median age for women is 35, with two children. This would explain all the pawnshops, check cashing stores, and the tattoo parlors. An example of the stress and aggravation of living in Fayetteville: The city was excited one year when the murder rate actually dipped from 10th in the nation to 12th in the nation. They were in competition with Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, and other major metropolitan areas. If the records were to compare murder rates to per capita, then Fayetteville, NC would have been clearly number one. That was never taken into account, and murder rates were down, in big bold letters across the newspaper headlines. Another example of your typical day in Fayetteville: There is one parking lot near a major mall that no matter the time of day, or time of year, or how long I park there, I will have a local panhandler hit me up for some money. Not food, not clothing, must be cash... Otherwise, the brave and bold panhandler will curse you up and down the street until you manage to get in your car and drive off... It has happened to me without fail. I had one panhandler climb in my car, and would not get out until I promised to give them cash. One panhandler even handed me a business card that said " John Doe, Homeless" while he politely demanded I give him something for his efforts. The only people on bicycles in Fayetteville are the homeless. There are no bike lanes, and you would have to be pretty desperate to take your life in your hands like that. The city has the highest ratio of fast food restaurants per capita than Atlanta and Washington DC. So if you work at a fast food chain now, you will always be able to find a job in Fayetteville. The city has the highest tax rate in the state. The city has a crumbling infrastructure, with about 3.5 miles of sidewalks, and one crosswalk with a light. The bus service is a joke. I once had a bus driver pull off the side of the road, put the bus in park, and then get off the bus to take a cell phone call. the passengers sat and waited in the bus while the bus driver lit a cigarette, and chatted away on his cell phone. The city has more churches listed in the telephone book than actual businesses. This does not seem to deter the homeless, the murder rate, or the other pluthera of crimes in the city. In fact, one pastor I met was a devout hethen, he just liked to list his "business" as a church for the tax benefits. As a friend of mine once told me as I was moving there, "Welcome to HELL..."

Lenoir, North Carolina, United States
You will be bored .. video games, books, movies, and the internet come in handy for a place like this. This is a really nice place with a colorful history and well-meaning people .. unfortunately you are about 2hrs away from a major city (Charlotte) unless you count Hickory - which is a pretty okay place to hold you over and be social - Tennessee border is not to far either. Fun Fact: You'll meet a lot of ppl from Virginia here as it takes exactly one tank of gas (older model car) to reach this town and by that point nobody feels like leaving. Point of Interest: The hills and woods of the surrounding area are quite an amazing sight.

Outer Banks, North Carolina, United States
Planning a trip to the Outer Banks? Speaking from experience, you can almost always rent a house on the beach, cheaper than you can book a hotel on the beach - Provided you are staying for at least five days. Another plus, take some more of the family or split the costs with another couple of family. Look around and you can find some great bargains. Traveling soon? Don't worry, great last minute deals can be found as well. A few minutes searching the internet can save some real money. Good Journeys!

Asheville, North Carolina, United States
If you're in Asheville, then you must see the Biltmore. The larguest home in the US. You cannot take photos inside the home but can outside and in gardens. Take one of the guided tours because you will get into extra areas. If you don't take a tour, get the audio guide at least. Huge grounds (don't miss the waterfall in the pond).

Garner, North Carolina, United States
Garner, NC a wee town south of Raleigh...there is really nothing to it....just Garner Station and Target and a whole of residential areas. If you like Wal-Mart, then Garner is for you....or any place that has a Wal-Mart (which is almost anywhere).

Thomasville, North Carolina, United States
The city with the most furniture mills in the world! When you drive down the main drag, there's a HUGE dining room chair in the median. It's got to be about 30 feet tall!
