Travel Tips from people who've been to Dayton
The best thing to see there is US Air Force Museum. A paradise and a must-see not only for an aviation freak. Hundreds of planes, helicopters and even spaceships gathered in a few huge hangars. Many attractions for kids, including interactive learning sites or accessible cockpits. One important thing. If you're not a US citizen, don't forget to bring a passport. If you accidentaly leave it in a hotel or wherever you're staying at, you might be a bit disappointed while only your passport grants you permission to the Presidential and experimental part of the exhibition (a bit stupid, but those exhibitions are located further, on the actual air force base territory, and therefore some more strict permission rules apply). And your id, driver's license won't work if you're not American. So if you want to see the former air force one, take your passport with you, please.

During the summer season, on the nights when the Dayton Dragons have home games, check out the Riverscape laser shows. They start at 10 pm and they are just amazing. the laser show is presented on some water spraying out over the river and you can watch from a park along the river which is called Riverscape ran by the metroparks.

Just on the outskirts of Dayton, you have to go and see the Air Force Museum, it is an all day affair.  Be prepared to do lots of walking, and if you really like historic planes make sure that you take lots of memory, and batteries for your camera.
