This town is on the Interstate 40 which crosses the U.S. from North Carolina to California.  This was one stop of many on the way to Winston-Salem.  This included mountainous regions, dew-covered hills, and steep climbs in 2nd gear.  
Daytime Tip:
Bring a camera or camcorder to document the breathtaking heights you'll view, and the Smokey Mountains.  Stay near the Interstate for gas, food, or lodgings.
