Travel Tips from people who've been to San Antonio
San Antonio is packed with non stop entertainment. Between 6 Flags Fiesta Texas, The Alamo, Riverwalk, Tower of the Americas, and La Canterra Mall, you'll never be able to say that there is nothing to do. A Great place to eat on the riverwalk is "Dick's Last Resort" (leave gandma at home) The staff is sarcastic and hilarious. Let me put it this way, your birthday? You get a "condom". Butcherpaper rolled to look like a condom and put on your head. Want to know where the bathroom is? Ask, and you'll be gien directions to 2 locked doors. (Ask again and they'll tell you). But the beast part is the food. It puts mom's to shame.
It's an experience you WON'T forget.

Another city I called home for a while.  Sightseeing... The Riverwalk is interesting.  You'd likely go see The Alamo at the same time.  There are rough pockets of the city... for instance, Bandera Road inside the 410 Loop sucks, and (according to the locals) stay the hell out of the south side of the city if at all possible!  It's hit-and-miss, really.  For some natural sightseeing, head for the Hill Country (follow Bandera Road northwest... not back into the city!), about a 20 minute drive.   It's pretty out there.
