01335An interesting corner of this city is The Avenues where the Catholic and other "gentiles" built their homes. To set themselves off from the Mormons, they deliberately designed their street grid to break the neat plan of 1st South, 3rd East, etc. The centerpiece of this district is the Cathedral of the Madeline, the third largest religious building in the city and an attractive tourist stop in its own right.
