Springdale is right outside of Zion National Park.  Zion is an amazing park but you have to ride their buses or hike out to get into the park.  The hike to Angel's Landing is breathtaking, but near the end, the trail becomes very narrow with steep drop-offs. To see the best view, you can't chicken out (like I did) but you need to go all the way to the top.

Want to visit Zion National Parc and don't want to be too far, stay in Springdale. Loads of possibilities.
We stayed in the Bumbleberry Motel. Spacious rooms, nice pool with hot pool (no breakfast). Great view on the mountains. Not cheap, but also not expensive is you consider your are close to Zion.
