04618Olympia is truly a gem of a town in washington state. I have never experienced such a pure and down to earth culture of people, most of whom seem in touch with not only the environment but also their bodies and spirits. It's proximity to magical rain forests and Mt. Raineer glaciers, as well as raging whitewater rivers, make it one of the few places to which I would consider returning to live for a chapter.

005People cannot drive around here so beware driving on the freeway! People will cut you off, follow really close and change lanes without warning! And they dont know how to merge with traffic!! There are lots of stores here to save money, costco is worth the money for the membership! Also, Fred Meyer is cheap on a lot of meats! Applebees is one of my favorite restaurants but Olive Garden takes the cake!

Dusty's - For a great burger, go for broke with a double meat, double cheese, with ham
McGlinn's - wood-fire pizzas, excellent bread bowl soups and excellent beer bread
Wok About Grill - Mongolian-style noodle grill, make your own bowl of stir-fry and watch it cook in front of you.
