Harpers Ferry attracts only a small number of travelers, who mostly stop for a visit to see the Appalachian Trail Passes Right Through This Historic Town. Otherwise those traveling through the area generally visit the more popular destinations. If you do travel to Harpers Ferry, please take some time to tell us about what you saw in this Harpers Ferry travel guide.
Travel Tips from people who've been to Harpers Ferry
I love visiting Harpers Ferry.  If your an adventurer, they have several outfitters that will take you canoeing, kayaking, whitewater kayaking, mtn biking, canal biking and/or rock climbing.
Parking is limited in the lower historic area.  Park at the National Historic Park and take the free shuttle to the downtown and back.  But, in busy season be prepared for lines and waits unless you go in off-peak hours.
