Uruguay

One of the smallest countries in South America, Uruguay is a pleasant and laid back country that is primarily known for its beaches, the most popular ones located in Montevideo – the country’s capital and at Punta Del Este. These beaches are excellent and are good enough to attract many vacationers from the neighboring countries of Argentina and Brazil.

Montevideo is Uruguay's only major city and is noted for its sophistication and diversity.  It has a nice collection of restaurants in the Mercado del Puerto, where you can munch on some huge steaks.  You can also check out the ranches in the countryside that raise the cattle.

In additional, the Portuguese influences are evident throughout the country.  One example is the charming 17th century colonial town of  Colonia del Sacramento.

Nice an colonial church, is it a pleasant experience to celebrate misa a sunday morning in this church, quiet, calm and is it possible to feel the passed of the time on those walls.

Pablo Neruda wrote a poem called "Puente Cuervo" Seeing this bridge is funny, travelling is chaotic (dangerous after a huge meal or if you have a hot drink with you). Its architect was a genius.

Colonia is a World Heritage site. It's nice to wander an afternoon around the old streets lined with trees, old buildings and vintage cars. Colonia is an easy day trip over from Buenos Aires.
