Punta del Este, Eastern Uruguay, Uruguay
Go to the beach at Bikini, one of the most exclusive spots with lots of pretty young people. The place it's amazing at the sunset!
Montevideo, Montevideo & Surroundings, Uruguay
The "cubierto" (service surchage) at the steakhouses is ridiculous. Enquire about this before choosing a restaurant. It is for the breadsticks and cutlery and would be charged even if you left the breadsticks and ate with your bare hands, not that you would. But they do not inform you of it, you just get a nasty surprise on the cheque.
Punta del Diablo, Uruguay
Playa Grande is located at only a 20 minute walk away from town, and it's an spectacular wide peaceful beach. It's less windy than most of the beaches nearby town and has one of the greatest views I've seen in my life.
Paysandu, Western Uruguay, Uruguay
This city only has two things: The Chaja and Los Iracundos Their beer sucks, their basketball team is bad, and their Hot spring baths are cold. Go to SALTO for a Good time!!
Montevideo, Montevideo & Surroundings, Uruguay
nice city, great people working in the hostels, not much going when we were there and the city tour by bus not the best thing i have ever done.
Maldonado, Eastern Uruguay, Uruguay
Durazno, Eastern Uruguay, Uruguay
Pan y vino, one of the best restaurants ever! You'll find it from the buss station.
Montevideo, Montevideo & Surroundings, Uruguay

Montevideo is a very nice place to know. Locals are very friendly and traditionals/conservatives. They love "mate" (local infusion) and they are the best drinkers of this in all South America. You should go to "mercado del puerto" on a Saturday or Sunday noon to see a nice local "feria" and enjoy many diferent restaurants specialiced in "parrilla" (barbaque), while enjoying the Murgas (local carnival music). Don´t forget to try "medio y medio". You should go to the "Tristan Narvaja Feria" to see a very traditional market in the street where you can buy almost everything used new.
