If you're heading to Tanna and Yasur Volcano is a big draw, then do not stay at White Sands Resort or anything near the northern end, close to the airport. It is a hell of a drive (not far but takes forever on bumpy roads) to get to the Volcano from that end of the island. If weather is bad...you'll waste hours and hours of time.
Stick to somewhere closer to the Volcano. It's more remote at that end anyways and a better area IMO.
