When you think Merida Venezuela, Mountains and cold weather come to mind, but in El vigia which is located in a plain area of the state, it gets really hot! I spent a couple of weeks here once and it felt as if I was in a coastal town, temperature can reach 100 F degrees. When you decide to travel here (they have an excellent regional airtport) bring lots of mosquito repellant because you are going to need it!
P.S. Remember that anywhere in Venezuela food is SO inexpensive that you can actually afford to sample all kinds of cuisine here without having to worry much about breaking the bank.
