Ha Long Bay, a world heritage site, features a network of rounded limestone islands that rise sharply from the sea. They have been the setting for many movies, paintings and more. Cruises through the region of more than 3000 limestone islets offer an unforgettable experience. A visit to one of the many hill tribes throughout the scenic mountain regions gives you insight into their day to day life. At Dong Hoi, visit the Phong Nha caves, another world heritage site featuring over 65km of caves and underground rivers. Hue, the former imperial capital and royal residence - once the political, religious and cultural centre of Vietnam - is bound to impress. Within Hue, be sure to see the 17th century Thien Mu Pagoda, an octagonal tower that is among the most famous in the country. Dalat, is a heavily French influenced quaint hill station that was once referred to has “Le Petit Paris.” The Capital, Hanoi, is a much see, including the Old Quarters, and Ho Chi Minh’s former residence. While here, be sure to catch a water puppet performance. The Mekong Delta, is another must see place as you navigate narrow waterways, see local farmhouses and rice patties.
