Travel Tips from people who've been to Central Vietnam
Avoid most hotels listed in LP or other guidebooks. Service and maintenance have gone out the window as westerners flock straight to them. Nha Trang is bursting with US$20-30 rooms and most places dont completely fill up except for Tet and heat waves.

Hoi An is a beautiful city in Vietnam, just south of Da Nang. The Old Town of Hoi An is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

this place goes up and down like postman pat the air is fresh and hi up. in this place i came across several eccetrics firstly the levitating monk who had not eaten for 3 moths looked great ad had filled a monestry with 300 rice cookers and tents to enlighten the locals, they had to sit in the saunas for a week and then could travel parallel uiverses ad be cured of worldly sicknesses then there was the elusive paintig monk who lived alone i an enclosure with huge iron gates like great expectations he resided behind a misty zen bamboo garden and his room was a bohemian mess of paintings ad paper, he wore a wooly hat with a wild peek a beautiful cloth clook and shinny boats he made them himself which is great but then he tried to take them off and sell them to us because he wated to go to china. then i meet a tai chi master who trained me at dawn, he was also obsessed with kundelini, ad then i meet tom a very young vietnamese boy who used to take me to brothels and cafes in the evenning, we used to drink alot of hot chocolate and he used to buy me lots of silk it was nice, then there where the nuns of the forest some where hot some where sweat and some where evil. they wore silk slippers and had chainsaws, and they made tofu in huge woden presses. we wore grey dresses which was sad because the nus where told they could not be enlightened as women complete sexist communist dribble so i left. but there was a very special lady there so so so so sweat well she had been there 20 years, like a agel in a cave i was lucky to fall apon she soft nature and sweet giggles. the air is lovely in winter beautiful courting bars and coutryside.
