Laayoune, Western Sahara
nice city. cqpital of occupaited by Maroccans Wzstern Sahara. U r able to see, that there is a lot of money puting to this city. Rather arabic than african. Nice to visit, but for one day (come on the morning, depart to Dakhla or back at the evening). Accomodation: hotels are busy becouse of UN stuff, so it is hard to find cheep, nice place. I recomqbde Hotel Rif (price 35 drh/night - around 3€). Rather clean (for those standards) and cheep. Other... not that good and clean. Good sweets in Atlas Mouyenne.
Ad Dakhla, Western Sahara
small city, last one before Mouritanie. Is situated on penisula. When you are entering it, it's looking like a real paradise! BUT THERE IS NO BEACH IN TOWN!!! Nearest one (very beautifull and totally empty) is next to checkpoint Acconnodation: cheep, nice, well situated and clean hotel Sahara - my recomendqtion (60drh for double room). Rest is propably in same price. Hotel Sahara Regency is top hotel in town with 4**** and huge price Why to Dakhla: best possibility to go to Mouritanie. Place in car costs 35-50€ (depends on car). In other case... only to feel african spirit. City have much more african character than rest in Marocco/Western Sahara Nightlife: typical for region - coffe or mint tea in cafe/restaurant. Didn't find any alcohol in shops. Food: restaurant SAMARQUAND is good
